Moon Co-op Comes of Age

The Hopedale UU Community has rented part of its basement classroom area to the MOON Co-op for many years. MOON is moving to a new location and the soft opening of the MOON Co-op Market is scheduled for Oct 31, 2011 at Tollgate Mall, South Locust St. in Oxford. We will miss our tenants but we are proud to recognize that the organization achieved its goals of growth, support and storefront presence.

MOON Co-op, along with cosponsor OEFFA, will be hosting Oxford’s 5th ANNUAL HARVEST MOON FESTIVAL on Sunday, October 9, 2011, 1:30 PM until 5:30 PM, at the Oxford uptown park at High and Main Streets.  There will be good food, educational info, children’s activities and more.  – Submitted by Liz Woedl

Green Screen Film Series, 9/14

How to Boil a FrogWednesday, September 14, 7:00p.m. at the Oxford Community Arts CenterHow to Boil a Frog is a comedic documentary about Overshoot: too many people using up too little planet much too fast. Yes, we’ve taken the kind of material that makes people jump off bridges, put it in a blender, and churned out a Smoothie o’ Fun that gives you the Big Picture of what the hell is going on with our so-called civilization, and tells you what you and I can do about it that will not only actually make a difference (no light bulbs!) but also make our lives better right now! More fun! More friends! It’s a bargain! (90 min.)

Free and sponsored by the OXFORD INTERFAITH CLIMATE CHANGE WORK GROUP (ICCWG), a coalition of area churches and concerned individuals working on the issue of climate change and earth stewardship. – Submitted by Liz Woedl
