Social Justice Activities for September

Community Meal Center, September 4- Help serve and assist at the CommunityMeal Center (Presbyterian Church of Hamilton), 23 South Front St. in Hamilton, on the First Friday of every month, 5-7:30 pm. Please call Liz Woedl if you would like to know more the Meal Center or would like to carpool with her from Oxford, 513-280-1044.

UU Council of Greater Cincinnati, September 12, 9 am – Noon, St. John’s UU Church, Clifton- Pride Events recap, Parade 2015, General Assembly 2015 report, UU Cuba Connections, OWL wrap up 2015, Coalition for a Just Hamilton County. Ride down with Liz Woedl and meet Reps from the four Cincinnati Area UU Congregations.

Hopedale’s Second Sunday Collection, September 13, will go to the Oxford Community Choice Pantry.

Coffee, Tea, Community- Next meets on Thursday, September 17, 5:30 – 6:30pm. The Social Justice Committee invites Hopedale Members and Friends to meet for coffee, tea and discussion of various SJ interests, issues and concerns usually on the 3rd Thursday of each month at HUUC.

Oxford Community Choice Pantry- We are encouraging Hopedale members and friends, to become a shopping assistant at the Oxford Community Choice Pantry (OCCP), 400 W. Withrow Street. OCCP serves approximately 300 households in the Talawanda School District Area. You can find out more at or by calling 513-523-3851. The Support page on their website shares numerous ways you can help OCCP.

Three Valley Conservation Trust will be planting 10,000 trees at Salamander Run Preserve, Layhigh Road, Morgan Township in Butler County over several dates: Oct 17, 20, 27, 31 and Nov 7. Work sessions will be from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Contribute some time and become part of a future park’s legacy by helping with the planting. The 125-acre property, funded by the OEPA and restored by TCVT’s Paddy Run Conservation Project will be turned over to MetroParks Butler County in February 2016.
