Gathering to Give, Hopedale’s micro-loan social action group, met in January and devoted $100 toward a $875 loan so Anhzaya, age 27, could open her own retail clothing business in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Here’s what Kiva told us about her:
“She lives with her husband and two sons in a small house in the Bayanhoshuu district … Her husband Mandah runs a small Internet cafe in their neighborhood. Their son Orgil, age 8, goes to . . . primary school, and their younger son Javhlan attends . . . kindergarten.
Anhzaya has gained lot of experience and has established a strong network over the years. She is confident that her new business will be a success. She is requesting a loan in the amount of 1,180,000 MNT in order to purchase a starting inventory for her new clothing retail venture. She is a hard-working, optimistic, and honest woman.”
She has already repaid 5 percent of the loan.
Gathering to Give will meet again after the March pot luck luncheon to select another borrower. Anyone can help! When many people each give a little, together we can give a lot. Make any donations through Hopedale, earmarked for Kiva.
