CROP Walk, 9/17

Oxford’s annual CROP Walk will be held September 17, at 10:00 a.m. beginning at Millett Hall. Ending Hunger one Step at a Time is this year’s theme. When you walk, you walk with the world! Once again this year there will be the 10-kilometer walk in Bachelor Estate Woods. Or you may also choose to follow the in town course. Both of these walk options begin in front of Millett and end at the Tailgating area of Millett Hall on the walk into the MU football game.

You may also Walk on the Web! Check it out on Hopedale’s CROP Walk page. Again this year one-quarter of the money raised locally will be donated to the Oxford Choice Pantry. Information, signup and pledge forms are all also available from Liz Woedl.

Over 1 billion people are hungry worldwide. That’s one out of every seven people in the world.  Each day almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes-one every five seconds. People are hungry in the United States, too. If all 36.2 million Americans faced with food insecurity stood in line at a food pantry in New York, the line would stretch to Los Angeles and back. Twice!  – Submitted by Liz Woedl
